About 2 months ago Taylor started weeing on the potty every morning first thing, just then and only if she wanted to (which was about 90% of the time). We never expected anything more than what she wanted to do, she also asked about a handful bit times to go poop on the potty but other than that it was just the morning wee.
Today, while I was still in bed @dadof.3boys.1girl asked her if she wanted to go on the potty and she did, afterwards we usually put her nappy on and so it goes for the rest of the day. But today, everytime Jonathan asked her to come and put a nappy on she refused, so he just left her, and kept the potty nearby.
She then on her own went to sit on the potty a while later and actually made a wee in it, we applauded her and a while later she did it again and again, still insisting on only wearing a panty and not a nappy.
Is this it? Will she be potty trained before turning two (she only turns two, in two months time) ? Or will this just be a good potty day and tomorrow back on the nappy? I don't know, we'll just have to see. But one thing I do know, is that it's up to her, I'll follow her lead.
Making potty training something that's stressful is not advisable, don't force your child to reach this milestone (or any other) on your or anyone else's time, why is this any different than crawling, walking, talking, none of those can be forced I don't see why potty training should be either. Surely they can be assisted and guided, but follow your baby's cues and help them along where needed, they'll do it in their own time and if you do it calmly and lovingly then it'll be an easier process for you and baby.
